Bike repair and maintenance
Why maintain your bike properly?
Good maintenance of your bike is essential to ensure your safety.
Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just a Sunday rider, you've probably experienced that unpleasant feeling when your brakes have barely slowed you down on a descent... Ouch! A regular check of your brake pads would have prevented this inconvenience. A broken chain or play in your wheel hubs can also cause a fall that could have been avoided. Don't wait until the last moment or until an accident occurs, warn him.
Ensure the longest possible life for your cycle with regular maintenance.
Your bike is assembled with parts that will see very little wear in their lifetime (frame, stem, handlebars) but most parts do wear out. You should change your tyres, transmission and brakes regularly. Changing the grease in your hubs, wheels and cranksets will also help to ensure your bike lasts as long as possible.
We all have a mechanic in us.
You don't have to go to a bike shop to have your bike serviced. Regularly check the pressure in your tyres, which will make pedalling easier and give your electrically-assisted bike greater range. Make sure your chain is properly lubricated with a quality lubricant. Be careful not to use too much oil, as this will collect dirt and have the opposite effect in the end. If you have a VAE, recharge your battery even in winter. Once a month is enough, but above all, don't keep it discharged.
